I like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.(the smell too) I've grown 20 acres of onions. At harvest time, you smell them for miles.I rode on the harvester with 12 others. All of our eyes were tearing and our noses running. To this day, my eyes and nose react to onions very quickly. The smell doesn't bother me mentally but physically.

LOL... You and me both have one of those noses that can smell miles away...
I can't believe how well I can smell things sometimes, my friends and family say "You're smelling things", kinda like "seeing things", that arn't really there. I hate driving on the dirt back roads in the country and all the windows are up, but you can smell the nasty smell of barn crap miles away and it lingers with you for at least twenty minutes. LOL. Good post!

I love the way the air smells at the beach after a good thunderstorm.
I can't hack the way sour milk, roadkill, or a hog pen smells.
Strangely enough, I love the smell of a marsh at low tide. It's strong, pungent, but definitely brimming with vitality.
I hate cheap car air fresheners.

Scents I love....and hate
I know exactly what you mean Symph about craving scents when you were pregnant. The opposite happened to me both times. Any kind of smell, but especially perfume or laundry soap would make me sick on the spot. Made it difficult to shop :)
My two favourite scents are bleach - yes bleach...I love the way it makes the bathroom smell, all clean and sparkly. The best though is coffee.....nothing gets me out of bed quicker than to smell coffee brewing. I set the auto-start on the coffee pot just so I actually get up on the weekend :)
Nothing makes me gag more than the smell of any kind of shite. Doesn't matter whether it's animal, bird, fish (do fish poo?) or human, I run for the loo.

Instead of the artificial smell from room refresheners, how about using aromatherapy scents? They work on the body for health. Enquire at the shop for your specific needs.
Ben.

Symphony....
I guess the worst foul smell for me would be adult body odor (BO) - there's no rhyme nor reason for it - no matter how poor, one can find soap and water somewhere. A good smell would be that adult body after a bath!
Sorry, your post was "shitty" today. lol Good job! Have a good day!

I'm a smeller too!
I think I have a very acute sense of smell! I hate the smell of cigarette smoke...unless it's outside and I'm drinking beer..then I don't mind it! I hate the smell of stale kids!!!! Do you know what I mean? Sometimes you walk into a school, or where there is a group of kids, and there is that distinctive smell..sweaty, unwashed hair...stale!! I hate any smell of pollution...depresses me that factories, trucks, etc are still allowed to spew their shit in the air! I hate it!! I, like you, love the smell of nature! And actually..I don't mind the smell of manure on a farm.

Interesting thoughts here...
I'm a lot like you in being sensitive to smells, good or bad. When I was pregnant I craved the scent of Joy dish soap, the lemon scented kind. I couldn't find a taste that satisfied the craving and it drove me nuts. All three times it was the same thing. Maybe I should have just poured soap over my lemon pie. Fun read...later.
