lol maybe...

we all have different standarts, but i think a majority of bloggers would agree with my definition of a bullshit post...BIG HEADLINE  empty content lol many clicks  and NOTHING inside

a sellout is also what i'd call a "clickwhore" haha

Good thoughts here...

Entertainment is part of the reason people read isn't it.  So, meatless isn't necessarily vegetarian...it's more like dessert!

I guess there's a time and a place

for fluff and serious stuff.  Sometimes,  I feel like a let down when I post light stuff, kind of like it's not what people are expecting. However, I don't waste time thinking about it, since it's not possible to write the same thing everyday.  Sometimes coffee, sometimes tea!

So true Quirky

I offer an apology in my latest journal post because it is a change from my usual fare. Don't know why.

Meatless posts are fun to write and to read and often easier to digest.

a sold out...
is a person that has exploited all his/her stuff and has nothing else to express but bullshit posts or news...if the blogger you mentioned corresponds to that definition, then yes he/she is a sold out...

A menu that doesn't change means I move on to a different cafe. I like variety. Conversely, if the cafe has a dish that just does it for me, I'll go back and back forever.

Sometimes we like a 7-course dinner, sometimes lighter fare...

It's all good.

to life and writing (those words are interchangeable, you know).  I thoroughly enjoyed the seriousness of the frivolity in that most creative post.  You are a pleasure to read.

It's jsut a bit of fun to post something totally frivolous and see how others react to it,

My PBJ or BLT was just that today....why did I do?  Because I could.  I pay to be here just like everyone else does, if I want to do 100 stupid posts a day I paid to do it!  So there!  yeah we also need the emoticon that sticks it's tongue out LOL!

it's okay dearie...Scriber just needed a toilet for his diarrhea mouth. I should be safe for at least another week, since I think the unwritten rule is you can't poop more than once a week in the same person's comments.

mmm-w,
I hope you didn't mind me mentioning that. I certainly didn't think your barbie post was frivolous, I though it was cute.

Note: Freedom of Expression does not include crappy comments made from those full of crap. Shadow

posted by Keshet on August 11, 2005 at 7:13 PM | link to this | reply

Frivolity is a very individual thing. I find it gets me back in balance if a lot of serious things have been going on. For example, a while back I had been helping to care for someone who was dying. A few days later I went to a party I'd been invited to becasue I needed to tip the balance back.
I think that frivolity in writing is much needed. It is possible even in writing serious stuff to highlight life's absurdities. To be truly frivolous it must be not be unkind

again, comical.... i saw your headline and thought "oh... i posted frivilously today"... little did i know. :)

It's our space that we rent, so to speak, so we should do what ever the hell we want.... fluff/meat/ridiculousness/quotes... :)

Somedays you're the seagull; other days you're the car windshield. As long as we're attending to the inbetween with our writing, then that's all that should really matter.

I PAY THEREFORE I BLOG

That presumes that posting isn't frivolous

and blogging isn't frivolous

and writing isn't frivolous

and I apologize for the frivolousness of this comment.

Here is a quote… I pay therefore I blog as I chose.

posted by Divine_1 on August 11, 2005 at 7:04 PM | link to this | reply

Isn't that the point? Sometimes I want fluff... sometimes not.
I think people should post whatever they want... but should also allow others to do the same without criticism for it.

Quirky,

I second Ariala's comments. We should be able to write what we are feeling at the time as long as we don't break the rules. Call it freedom of expression. Shadow

generally I think we should write serious stuff like:
Is it "selling out" to write frivolous posts?
