If I were a mole, would anyone care? nah...

quirky....
I don't know whether it is totally wrong, but I also don't think it is totally right either. If they are part of blogit staff and acting in that capacity then they should be using a clear handle like the one they use on community posts - blogitstaff. It would be nice to think we could post whatever we want but in reality, just think of all the people that are out there reading - do we know half of them or who they really are? i doubt it very much. Do I care? to an extent, I'd like to think I "know" the people I read or those that read me. But the others? The ones that pop up out of nowhere? They don't bother me. And no! I'm not a blogit mole - I can think of better things to be doing with my time!
Good post to get some of us thinking though.

It used to be that, on usenet, people would lurk for a long time before venturing a topic or even a comment against a topic. I know one person who lurked for damned close to 6 months before we found out that she had been reading the newsgroup. Sure, it was "free", but what's the difference between free and the pittance that it costs to be here?
Anyways, even if some commenters work for shaycom/blogit, they'd still be entitled to be part of the community - just like civil servants are allowed to have political views.

Agreeing to disagree. I have read the comments this time and don't think they are as loaded as you say. Like I say they just have a different opinion to most and I even agreed with them on some points. As for the rest I don't have your diligence in keeping track although I have noted their blogging style and opinions as fundamentally different to mine.
Without hearing further evidence I must adjourn the case

MayB,
yes people do come and go, but never so regularly as around the major controversy. Mighty coincidental if you ask me. And this particular time they weren't gloating, they were leaving pro-Blogit comments and talking about how we were all hurting Blogit by being critical of them...well as I said in my post, you can believe what you like and I'll do the same. Anyway, I know far more than I wrote about here, because I don't want to get thrown off Blogit.

It's quite possible, Quirk. But, this wouldn't be the first time,
as you know. I suppose it may be a logical thing to do on their part. Are you sure
I'm not a mole, though? hehe. Ya never know!

Thinking on this some more, I really don't buy it. It is very easy to make assumptions about people who operate differently to us.
Strange as it may seem to you (and me) there are some people who read far more than they post and who come and go. I read the comments and I think it's a bit of a stretch of the imagination. You gotta keep in mind I am not a fiction writer--yet

I'm not around enough to have seen this person before (especially since I usually log off during "scandals") but I know who you're talking about now after having read so many comments the last couple of days!

I've got a couple in the 1500's or so, and some with even lower rankings, and they don't go back into last year. And, when I haven't posted for a while, I have hit the 3,000 to 5,000 levels.
It takes about one click to bring them down into the 600's, and even the 500's.
And I have noticed that there are comments from people who don't seem to do much blogging - noticed BeachBelle has a comment in the community blogs the other day (on Whammie). And she's not been around for months...

I mainly agree with MayB. Conspiracy theories are appealing, but
they can't be proved with just circumstantial evidence ............. on the other hand, there is such a concept as justified paranoia.

Now you'll think I am a mole but I don't buy it Quirky. It is more likely gloating. In these cases some people always come out of the woodwork to gloat rather than some conspiracy theory. I realize that I am unusual but I don't get swept up in conspiracy theories. You'll need to give me some ahard evidence to convince me -- names, dates? Then I'll tell you what I think.

I'm not a political person but it feels a bit communist to me. I'm new here and am learning from you all and right now it seems like there is an underlying distrust of our hosts.

Good observation, I noticed 6 to 10 names I had not seen in awhile and when
I clicked on them I saw they had been here for a year to a year and half but had not posted in awhile. When I took on two plagiarists here another blogger got involved, and certain names popped up, that never post and the next thing I know she was gone and I did not understand why, she strongly voiced her opionion but nothing I could see to deserve banning.
