LOL, Groucho. I dunno where that email address is!
How and why is it that I keep tuning into
your thoughts? Why is your wife's coming into them now, too? I know. You guys gotta be doing that on purpose to
me!

of what your dreams mean. I don't really think you need
me!

Spiffy, only once I knew the kidnapper. Gene Hackman!
What the hell does that mean? I haven't escaped yet. But, this recent PTSD episode came about with major feelings of being trapped and restricted and forced into things....I think that in my dreams that they force me into things represents, somehow, some of the loss from the brain injury. The owls and water I do understand, yes....they both represent change or transition in different ways. The kidnapping dreams are twofold, I think: PTSD comes from violence of some kind, as did mine, so when it's triggered it's triggered by danger + helplessness. It doesn't have to be violences. This is very complex and I'm simplifying it a lot for my purposes, but the trapped part totally works. I started having them when my danger + helplessness was triggered by something, I wasn't feeling safe (relating to my security, stability in life), and I was feeling monumentally (I can't find a big enough word here) trapped and forced down a road that I didn't want to follow. That was when I was at Yellow. They've slowed down since I left.
So, the combo of the PTSD brought me violent dreams (it always does) but in this case it tapped into that trapped thing that had taken over me. Cool.
Last night, I dreamed that my Mother was 7 different people. If you knew my Mother, you wouldn't have to analyze that one. ;)

Groucho,
According to Dream Moods (a website) this is what it says, "Contrary to a popular myth, you will not actually die if you do not wake up before your hit the ground during a fall.
As with most common dream themes, falling is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. This may reflect the way you feel in your relationship or in your work environment. You have lost your foothold and can not hang on or keep up with the hustle and bustle of daily life. When you fall, there is nothing that you can hold on to. You more or less are forced toward this downward motion without any control. This lost of control may parallel a waking situation in your life.
Falling dreams also often reflect a sense of failure or inferiority in some circumstance or situation. It may be the fear of failing in your job/school, loss of status, or failure in love. You feel shameful and lack a sense of pride. You are unable to keep up with the status quo or that you don't measure up."

Cool. That actually makes the most sense of any thoughts I've had or heard
on the matter. I thought I was just either dipsomanic or just plain nuts.
Thanks!

Temple,
From what I looked into, I found that to dream that you are being kidnapped, denotes feelings of being trapped and restricted. Someone or some situation may be diverting your concentration and your attention away from your goals.

FactorF,
To see a raging flood with its muddy debris, signifies that you may have much unsettling occurrences and tribulations in life. Your repressed emotions may be overwhelming you.
If you’re swept away by a flood, forewarns that someone may be trying to use you. To see an ocean in your dream represents the state of your emotions and feelings. It is indicative of some spiritual refreshment, tranquility and renewal.

Strat, how interesting!!
I'd say stay away from the red wine! But I think the wedding dream meant something like in real life, you're anticipating the outcome of something you don't have too much control or say about. The strangers in the church may represent unknown onlookers or the decision makers that you don't personally know. Oh, and I fell off a cliff once in a car and hit the ground. I can't remember if I died or not but I remember suddenly being "okay" with dying in a few more seconds.

I am mostly G and H
although I have had teeth dreams in the past.
Mostly now it's looking for my class/new dorm room/boyfriend (ex) who can tell me how to find the prior
or H - flooding, especially ocean flooding (nothing to do with tsunamis - has been around for most of my life)
any deep insights now?

I could keep you busy for YEARS with mine girl...
It depends on if I'm having PTSD dreams or not, but they are always vivid. My PTSD dreams lately are about kidnapping (which has never happened to me)....sometimes being made to do things I can do that no one else can do (like if someone made you use your psychic ability for bad) to hurt people....this is just the latest treats....
Mostly I know what mine mean, that kidnapping, I don't know. When I go through a lot of changes, sometimes I dream about owls. When I am really withdrawn, and introspective, maybe depressed, but doing "inner" work, I dream about water.

E and C in that order
I dream a lot about falling. Most of the "violence" i dream of consists of attacks by nature upon my dreaming personage, esp. insects. I am not afraid of them, save for bees (my generation was the
Swarm one).

Love the flying dreams!
I didn't know anyone else had dreams of their teeth falling out. That always weirds me out.
The one I can't stand is the one where I'm standing at the altar of a church in tux, and the preacher is telling me it's time, and I don't know who's coming up the aisle. In fact, it's my wedding and I don't know a soul there. Wake up screaming.
Or wait a minute, that was my last trip to New Orleans...
BTW, I know fer a fact I dream in both sound and color.I've heard that's not possible. I've also hit bottom when falling off a cliff and lived to tell about it.

Hmm...
I guess a little of each, although I have only had one flying dream, but it was really cool. I was flying next to a jet, and then decided to land on the Harvard campus. The landing was a little shaky, but for a first attempt I did pretty damn good! :)

Jems, I gotta be quick for right now, but
violence in dreams means anger and unresolved issues that you are unable to portray in waking life. Dreams are our own ways of unleashing and releasing that anger.

Violence, isn't that weird, Jimmy?
I had many violent (REALLY violent) dreams of seriously hurting or killing people when I knew my husband was cheating on me. I really messed this one guy up, big time. But he deserved it, cause in my dream, he was a really bad man. I shot him in the face after taunting him! I think that dream is a post within itself. I still remember it as if I dreamt it last night!

Scawwy!

spiffy,
This sounds like one of those trick, undercover psychoanalysis, deals. I know how those things work--you're trying to sneak everyone's profile out of them.
I guess I can live with that. It has to be G. Some of the other stuff has happened, but I get so lost in those that I have to figure out where I am when I wake up. That needs to be combined with the walking around nekkid deal. While I'm lost on the University Campus, I am nearly in some anacceptable form of dress. Please get back to me on the profile, Dr. Spitfire.

Often times the violence is against others and by others and I am just watching, horrified. I always wake up in a cold sweat.

Spitfire...
My most recurring dream had to do with churning lumps of gray clay as big as houses, me standing in the middle of it all, the entire scene pulsating to the beat of an unheard, unseen, rythm. The rythm was the dominating factor in the dream, occassionally, even now in waking life I can feel this rythm inside me. It is quite strange.
