Renigade,
No, they are actually not that harmful to the garden, unlike their loathsome kissing cousins, the gophers. ;-)

Coming between a cat and its prey
Kudos to you! Not for saving the mole, but for not getting maimed by your cats in the process. I've tried keeping my three cats away from Narci (my lovebird) when she got loose, and let me tell ya, I came away with battle scars!

No Spitfire,
The headline wasn't "I killed a life yesterday"--so why'd ya think I'd do something like that??

Quirky,
anyone ever told you that you have a very vivid imagination? As short as it was, I enjoyed reading this post, particular the 'moley speaks'.

Ca88,
Believe me, it was much harder to fight off the cats than it was to capture "their" mole.

My cat would go and hunt something else down, she gets her feelings hurt when we don't appreciate the dead mice and things she proudly carries in. Now I check her mouth before she trots in the door.
