ThomasF, I don't know but I
don't think it works for frogs. Frogs are cool though. I have a whole tree frog family that live in my backyard. Oh, and a bullfrog named well, what else? Jeremiah.

How about croaking frogs-any hidden meaning here or little known fact?

Oh, Whammie. Great minds think alike!!
Been there, done that, still doing that!! (Accept I'm not blonde, but it still works for me!!)

SPITFIRE,

This is another example of when I would give a blank stare and say to a man, "Oooh, could you do it for me?"

And he would get his ego fed, helping the poor dumb blonde, and I would thank him and tell him: "Thank you soooooo much!  You are soooooooo smart!!!!! You have a very large brain!!!!!"  And I got him to do my work for me, and to feel good about doing it.  LOL   (Refer to my recent comment to beachbelle for further info).

I love it, SpitFire!
But my attention span and ability to multitask will prohibit me from being able to both count to 5 and count the chirps at the same time.  And then there is math involved, too?

You're welcome, Symph.
Leave it to me to bring you strange and unusual facts and bullshit!

Jems,
YES! Can I blame the memory loss on the fairies, too? I never thought about that!

Tapsel, that's right!
I forgot that it's winter. Sometimes I forget living in Florida. Oooo, that was cruel, wasn't it?

Rach,
Locus are just plain weird anyway so that doesn't surprise me!

JJ,
You're always welcome! I am a sucker for stupid trivia and weird facts like that.

I read that somewhere

Can't remember which book I read it in, though.

And useless info isn't keeping you from remembering where you put your cars keys.  We've already determined that the faerie folk take them!

Perhaps they also take some of your brain too!

Spitfire - I hope I can remember that formula the next time I hear a cricket.   I haven't heard any since the beginning of the ice and snow.

The same is true for certain types of locusts...

Well, they chirp (or do whatever it is they do) when the temperature flucuates by more than five degrees or something like that...

Yes, it is true,
I read about it in some biology book or something like that.  I tried it once, and it worked, but I immediately forgot the numbers.  Thank you for being so nice as to tell me things that I want to hear.     JJ
