No doubt about that, Wham, but it's too bad he can't profit from
it money-wise. I'm sure he could make other things with that skill and talent for the general public, though!

SpitFire, Wiley will never sell them on the market
because they are tangible expressions of his Love and gifts from his Heart!  And they are Perfectly Magnificent!

Well, HolyG, they all have their own personalities.

Spitfire
Yep, that's old Montana at the pub with me.  Charlie isn't quite so social, but I love him.

fwmystic, um, like who from? A sensei?
 Regardless, they sound pretty cool!

Quirky, that's so cool. I think writing a poem for someone
means a lot to them. I wrote a small speach called A Promise For Avery (for my stepdaughter) and read it aloud at our wedding. I hope she can/will appreciate it when she gets older.

Whammie, doesn't Wiley totally rule?
His work is so wonderful. He should market those chalices and other stuff he makes!

A homemade set of numchucks ...
made of bamboo, impossible to break no matter how hard the assailant's skull. 2nd best gift: a stainless steel curved dagger with spikes around the grip, to be used like brass knuckles.

I agree, handmade gifts can be very special. My sister is very creative and crafty, always making cool things. She got all of the craft genes though, so I can only make poems and such for my mom---but I know she really likes them.

Spitfire...
I have a friend who makes pens from wood etc. He gave me one for my birthday because he knew I collect pens. Later he said that it had another meaning which I missed. The wood he made it from is called purple heart. He said that because of all the things I've been through he felt I deserved a purple heart.

It is a gift that touches my Spirit every time I gaze at it.

void-is, you have given more than
a PERFECT example! Thank you!!

Jems, just the fact of when someone remembers something
you said and then to give a gift that reflects upon that exact thing can mean SO much. Just the fact that they remembered says it all.

SpitFire, I agree that handmade gifts are often the best!
I make jewelry for a (part time) living, and I love it when I can make a nice piece for a friend. I put my love and thoughts of them in the making... The results are always satisfying, especially when you see their face light up!

HolyG,

Aw, no, kelli. Ya don't
have to, but I'd really like to hear about them anyway!!

There are just so many!
I know I'll change my mind if I think on this longer than just a few seconds, but the first one that pops into my mind is a diamond and emerald tennis bracelet my first boyfriend gave me.  I had told him a story about how I'd joke around with a friend saying that he had to buy me a diamond and emerald tennis bracelet.  My boyfriend remembered the story and a few months after I told him the story, he gave me the bracelet for my birthday.  I was touched not by the gift itself, but by the fact that he really listened to me and remembered things I told him.

Mybest gift...

My sister paid Montana's adoption fee for me for Christmas six years ago, so I guess he was my gift from her.  I've got my feet resting on his back right now and he is looking up at me with his cloudy old eyes, reeking of "old man dog smell," but I love him anyway!!

My best tangible gift would be the things that my daughter used to make by hand.....do I have to say why?
