maj, we sat two nights ago and he maanaged to erase the first page of

photos from the site. He has replaced the photo with a thumbnail, etc. show of angels, and one of nativity scenes, but they haven't been uploaded as yet.

Tonight, we tried just adding the words 'Online Store' to the site's first page and my brother hadn't used a regular font, but had made pictures of the darned words, so we had fun trying to semi-match the look. Then, we went to Paypal and took the buttons for sales from the site and added one nativity scene, as an experiment, and put it up for sale. It worked and is sitting there, a small beginning, but I think I see a website with storefront and have more hope.

I'm trying to get changes that I don't understand and he doesn't explain well, whipping along and impatient with my ignorance, but when I dropped my forehead onto the keys of Mom's piano, next to the computer, after one particularly rude and impatient eye roll from him, he lightened up and may even get kinder, who knows??!?!?

Small steps like you say. I have him for about three more days.........sigh.

Cynthia, grandparenting is an opportunity to do children differently and I
am trying my best to enjoy the moments more than I did parenting, which I have forgotten mostly. How did I raisse them? Can't remember. With a little help from my friends and family, I'm sure, but unaware of the passage of time. This time, I am aware of time flying away and am grabbing more moments and savoring them. Thanks for your comments.

LadyK, I do miss the hippie times, when I made clothing and jewelry
and quilts and wooden puzzles and toys and magnets and paintings and did face painting and had booths full of wondrous things in the old hippie fairs of days gone by. I miss it and feel constrained by just making clay things all year long. I am seriousssly thinking of making some baby clothes to sell online. The prices as the baby stores were heart stopping to me. Tiny little head cap, like a cut off sock, for $9.98, amazing. I bought them used for 25 and 45 cents, looking new mind you, carefully selected and then made them too cute with just ribbons or painting or sewn on little thingies. My favorite little cap read, "El Rey", the king, and had a little crown on it, because he will rule their world !!!

telynor, I hope to grow up to be more like the person that I try to be.
I fail periodically and know that life is short and I don't have much more time to get this right. The kids and I went to the dog park and had ice cream and fun. Without coupons, even!!! You are wonderful tely, just haven't found the people to surround you and say it is so.......I say it is so, so there.

Temple, I didn't really even talk about the Mexican side of the holidays,

except for the tamales. They have lovely Spanish masses at the Catholic church of San Agustin, with trios that sing in Spanish and a padre in Mexcian robes, etc. Wonderful. Then they have Las Posadas, when the little children dress as Mary and Joseph and seek refuge from one house to another in their neighborhood and are turned away until they reach the house, the Inn, where they are invited in and fed and sung to and its wonderful. They sing from house to house and dress like little angels, etc. So sweet and a lovely tradition here in town, going on for decades.

Yes, I would have loved to have had you here for tamales and cocoa and sweet night time talks. Happy holidays, beach baby.

ca88andra, yes, fewer gifts and chocolate and underwear sound like a
heavenly Christmas to me!!!

dear the_loanlady, the outfits were my most fun, aside from the coupons.
I used to spend all of my time making Christmas gifts and mourn not having the time anymore. To be a laid back hippie again and have my whole life in front of me, slow speed and all, sigh.

Jemmie211, amor, I am blessed and know it. I love my huge and diverse
family and feel blessed to have so many relatives. I love my privacy year long, but holidays are for group hugging and communing with friends and family and I dive deep into those waters, too. Thanks for reading me during your holidays.

Deeverdoodle, what a wonderful idea! I shall suggest this to the grand-
children. My daughter usually goes thorugh their rooms without consulting them, throwing and giving away things at her will..........sounds like their involvement in the whole process would be better for them. Happy Holidays to you.

beachbelle, isn't it wonderful when they are tiny and love the 'experience'
of the viewing of gifts, the unwrapping of those gifts and then finally, the understanding that the gifts are theirs to keep and to play with forever!!!??!?!? Just trying to get these children to slow down enough to recognize who bought them what and to say their thank-yous before ripping open the next gift, was the challenge. But, it all worked out in the end and it was fun watching the whole production. I did have fun and am happy that you did, too.

HolyGrail, the coupons were all that I could afford and seemed a selfish
gift, as I suspect that the coupons will bring me more pleasure than they bring to them. Maybe we'll all just love using them up!

You make a date with that young(er) man...

Every __day, spend two hours (if need be) updating and tweaking that website.

Always a satisfying read.
You never disappoint, and from one grandma to another, thanks.

cocoa and tamales

what a fun family Christmas, and what an incredible grandmama you are.   You should see Jim's sea of toys... I made his present, a stocking to hang over the fireplace... it broke my heart to see all the money spent on the acres of plastic crap when the child is perfectly happy banging on a pot with a spoon or examining the wonders of ribbon.

We missed you!! and PLEASE go into the clothing line, as I'd love to buy some for the baby in my life :)

You know, everytime I read your blog, I find out something new about myself. You are such a wonderful, giving person -- I hope I can grow up to be like you.

I always miss you so much.
What's wrong with me that I don't remember to come here and read you even when I don't really come here and read much at all?  You stop it, because you are not too old, beautiful Abuelita.  You make me remember Christmas of my childhood.  I miss midnight mass and tamales on Christmas Eve.  I think I would love Christmas again if I was around you and yours, even if there was too much sun and no snow...the sound of Spanish (even though still I cannot speak any)....I would love to have one present to unwrap and your coupons.  Sounds like heaven.  Many blessings to you, my most perfect and beloved Abuelita.  You restored a vision in me this night...my soul grandmother.  I send much love to you in the desert from out here at the sea.  Really, I should be calling you madre, because you are not old enough to be my abuelita.  Love always.... hija.

Sounds like you had a busy but happy time. Yes, many children get far too much for Christmas. I gave my boys one present each, but they were expensive ones so they appreciated them. Santa brought chocolates and underwear - not very inventive, but needed.

Sounds like a very Merry Christmas. She is lucky she made it on the plane, so many peopl got stranded in Ohio- midwest- east coast. At least it was only her bags...

The outfits you make sound amazing cool.  Especially the one with his college team! Baby goes pro!

To have such loved ones in your life at Christmastime, you are truly blessed!  What a beautiful post!

What a wonderful Christmas....
We have a rule in our home that for every new toy, one old one must be given away. We've begun the same with clothes. We are blessed and want to share it. Sounds as if you are as well. Happy Hlidays.

Yes over-gifted is the word and yet children still want more. My two year old was wonderful. She took time over every gift admiring it, oohing an aahng, showing it to everyone. Her aunt was impatient and wanted her to move on to quickly. I said no , let her go at her own leisurely pace. It is a gift in itself.

Your day sounds wonderful. Mine was too
