So, what happened to the little liar?

SpitFire.....

There are a ton of kids that go out and party, and the only reason that the parents even report them missing is so that they can get out of paying a Curfew Citation if one is issued.

Once, a girl on house arrest or some type of court-ordered restrictions contrived an elaborate kidnapping/rape scenario, to avoid being in violation of her probation~~~and we know she was out screwing around with her boyfriend.

We did the report, and the hospital had to do a rape kit, and detectives had to do a follow up, and this was a patrol car taken off the road.

We tried to scare her into retracting her story, telling her that the DNA report would land the culprit in jail for 20 years as we tripped her up in her story again and again, but she still continued to insist that the reason she did not come home on time was because she was raped.

I don't know, Whammie. It sounds like a catch 22 and
that's so unfair to the police. As you know, I attended the police academy (didn't graduate cause I had to drop out)  and my grandpa was a Chicago cop, so I have always had an interest and a sympathetic heart for the police and military. I think laws NEED to change. I think more Upword Bound and Outword Bound programs are necessary and tougher laws against children and behavior that breaks the law and tears families apart. I wish more people would understand the position police are often faced with and the parents of such demonic kids.

SpitFire....In a shooting situation, we have to make a decision

in a split second, whether or not to pull the trigger.  And no matter whether it is justified or not, somewhere in the backs of our minds, we know that we will be on trial by the media, and the public, and sued civilly by the family, and there is also the possibility of the Department turning their backs on us.

At least in these cases, we have the luxury of trying to assemble the facts.  We try to determine the Primary Physical Aggressor (ie, who started it).  I was at a scene where this little fucking out of control spoiled rotten with ADHD child tried to run over her parents, and her father grabbed her and told her to get her ass back in the house.

We told the child...."their sandbox, their rules."  When you are of age, and you can support yourself, then you can do what you want to do, in the meantime, you have to listen to them.

The child and the Peanut Gallery were outraged because we took the side of the parents.

This girl will ultimately be a liability upon Society.

I guess it depends upon the officers who respond to the call?

Whammie, I believe it and that sucks.
How do you handle that? If a husband hits the wife and she calls the police, he goes to jail for domestic violence and or assult & battery, so can this work if a parent hits a child back after the kid struck them first?

Spitfire.....we get the calls for a child out of control,

both at the schools and at the homes at all hours of the day.

If a parent spanks the child, the child calls Social Services alleging abuse; they are not allowed to paddle in schools anymore.

These kids tell the principals to F-off, tell their parents to F-off, literally beat their parents, grandparents, and guardians.  And when we tell a 14 or 15 year-old "their sandbox, their rules" the kid is not trying to hear that.  They will shove right past their mothers or even strike them and tell them, "You can't tell me what to do!"  They will tell the police, "You can't tell me what to do!"

DH will accept for Domestic Violence cases, which are many, but there are two sad realities:  they learn even more bad habits and behaviours while they are in DH, and ultimately, they will be released back to their parents because that is the System.

It may already be too late for your niece, I fear, and that is so sad.

Whammie, I think her parents are in for a rude awakening...
When she really hurts someone or them. With that rage and attitude, even a 4 year can do some serious damage. I don't want to think about when she's a teenager! Yikes.

I know Rach!! Man, I'm tellin ya...
I swear I would never put up with that for a second. WHACK! That would have been strike three. If time outs wouldn't work, taking away her toys, tv, etc. then something obviously ain't gettin through her little head!

koriani, and those are only a few examples. She's the beast.
I just know it.

Woah...

That is a bit much.

My three year old has a mouth on her, but nothing like that!  Every now and then she lets a swear word slip.  But, she'd never get away with that sort of behavior!

Holy Terror, Batman!
Mine are Angels compared to her! Ack!

Being lenient on the child has done her and Society no favors.

And even now, she already at 4 knows that she can make the rules.  By the time she is a teenager, God help us all!

My brother was privileged with leniency, and that coddling then is now his worst enemy.
