Thanks Ariala! Isn't she?
She still bites me too hard sometimes, though, even when playing! She's a little spitfire!

Thanks, Zachary-
Actually, I don't domesticate the squirrels I rehab because I prepare them for release back into the wild when they're old enough. They get affectionate with me cause I'm their "mommy" to them. I never expose them to many humans and never allow them to hang out with my dogs cause I want them to fear larger animals that can kill them in the wild. They do usually hang out in the trees around my house, though.

How you domesticated that squirrel will always blow me away . . .
Happy Holiday, Spicefire.

Spitfire
This blog prompted me to dig up a couple of pics of me when I was three feeding the squirrels in San Francisco. Once I get J to scan them, I'll post them.

poopyH, she's running around my office chair as I type this...
She also saw what you wrote. She bit me. Probably thought it was ME that called her a rat with a bushy tail. I told her it wasn't and her bite was unjust. She said she was sorry. She then asked for your address. I gave it to her. Good luck. Sleep with one eye open, pal.

msA, how the hell are ya?
Thanks for "braking for squirrels"!! They are very intelligent little animals, but as far as the car thing, if you've noticed, when they're darting out into the road and see a car coming, they may quickly change directions. Why? Here's the dumb part, they think they're faking out their "preditor" not realizing it's a car; not a large animal thinking they're prey.

Symph, yep. That's what makes it easier to let them go.
I know they're always happier being the wild animals that they were born to be!

I can hear the tales around the acorns now.....
Once, when Granny Squirrel was a wee one, I lived with the tall bi-ped animals in one of their odd shaped trees. The female took care of me and loved me...so I could, one day, start my own family........
All her progeny will think she is crazy and is imagining things.

What awesome pics!
She's such a cutie! I've always loved squirrels! I have many pics my dad took of me as a child playing with squirrels in San Fran. And I even have a pic of me wearing my favorite squirrel shirt when I was about three. Oh where oh where did
that innocent cutie go!?
