I spent today just out of boredom. I'm working on cutting my spending habits too. I just got back from 6 weeks in Puerto Rico and you're right. Other countries have far fewer material possessions and don't seem lessened by it. Almost no one there has a dryer. They hang their clothes on lines on their balcony.
