My husband brings up a valid point:
He works and I am a stay-at-home-mom now:
I used to work full-time before kids and he didn't help with "household" chores but he did all the outside "dirty" work such as mowing, trimming, fixing stuff, etc.
He says his domain is outside and mine is inside.
Sometimes he does the dishes and sometimes I mow part of the yard so I guess it's kind of even...(we have about 3 acres to mow and trim). I think I'd rather do the dishes...

I wish that it were that simple...
for the first ten years of my marriage, I did not work outside the home...8 years later, he still refuses to lift a finger for anything...my advice to my daughter is...work that first year and insist he help, otherwise she is doomed...

Division of labor is right behind money as a marriage gripe.
There's no clause in the marriage vows that divvies up the work.

Editormum - It's really nice when they see that you are swamped
with kids and do things like vacuuming without even being asked even if you are a stay-at-home mom.

Have you read my blog on "He knows how to make me feel good"? My husband of two weeks holds a very good job, yet he does the dishes, cooks, does the laundry and yard work. He rebuilds computers, fixes things that need fixen and is more than any woman could ever ask for. Sound like a fairy tale? Maybe, but its absolutely true. We both work and share on the chores at home. Today its about team work, and the more you work together, the more you appreciate one another... good blog!
