It'd have to be my years in a Youth Legislature program. I was often on tv and the radio for this program, and after I was too old to participate, I became an advisor for the program for a while.

INC...aka Zachary.N.Miles (confusing me now!)
I don't think there's anything wrong with being proud and thinking that way. It gives you natural confidence. As long as ya don't flaunt it like a jerk. I don't see you doing that!

Ummm....
Yeah,,,,,uh......Hhmmmm. I won Psychedelic Furs tickets on the radio in 1984. And Bono touched my hand and took a flower from me once. Obviously I've got a big bag of nothin'! No important personal achievements. Oh wait, I won first prize for a little book I wrote for the gifted and talented program in 6th grade.

A bad move because, at the time . . .
I thought I was "all that."

Can't think that way.

That's so cool, Wham!
Sometimes getting our "15 Minutes" in incriments is better than only one single 15 minutes of fame!

Yeah . . .
The contest was open to all 4-year private and community colleges across the country. Many literature professors had their entire classes write submissions as part of their overall grades. There were a LOT of entries which were all somehow read and sorted before the end of that particular semester.
Unfortunately, it went to my head at the time. Academia provided me with 15 minutes of fame which I promptly attempted to stretch out into months. A bad move.
Looking back on the actual achievement is very nice, though! I still have the books awarded. I used the grant money given as the main prize to pay for the following semester and books. Aside from managing to survive childhood, this was definitely my greatest personal achievement throughout my aluminum and copper years.

Spitfire, I am getting my 15 minutes in installments!
I think I have about 11 minutes and 15 seconds remaining! LOL
I have been on the scoreboard at Jacobs Field twice, in the newspaper once (photo also taken at Jacobs Field); I danced on the Gene Carroll Show when I was a kid; I was on the Academic Challenge, but only as an alternate, so the camera panned over me. Once about 15 years ago, they put me on the news for some stoopid segment.
I just keep chipping away at my fifteen minutes, little by little...

During my junior year of college . . .
I won First Prize in a National Essays & Letters competition with a 25 page critical piece I wrote on the so-called "Cannon" of British Literature in contrast to the icons of American Literature. I can’t recall exactly how many other entries I beat out, but it was definitely greater than 10,000.
What a bad thing that was . . .

Spitfire...I have another.
I was eleven, and I entered the annual Deschutes River inner tube race, by the Olympia Brewery. I won FIRST PLACE even though there were much older kids there also and my prize was a four man inflatable raft that was so totally cool, and I got my name in the paper too.

OK then, Spitfire - here goes.
I not only graduated from nursing school at age 50+, I took top honors in both academical achievement and in clinicals. It was the first time in that school that a person had taken both and I got to stand on the stage of the large auditorium and make a little speech. It was quite exciting.;

Tapsel, that's the point! This question gives you the green light
to brag without "bragging!" What made you feel like a million bucks for if only just a moment?

That's an easy one
because its only happened once. I was on the front page of our cities newspaper for some songs that I had written. Everyone in town treated me differently for quite awhile. Fortunately, it all went back to normal within a few months.

Spitfire,
I trained and managed a professional fighter. We went to Las vegas for a fight in which we were huge underdogs and my guy won in the first round with a glorious knockout. The whole thing was on TV, and it was very, very, cool.

BrimS, you can't tell me you haven't already experienced at
least ONE "15 Minutes of Fame" within your lifetime! It doesn't matter how insignificant it seems to you...as long as it was a memory when you felt like you were in the spotlight and ontop of the world! (You could have been 5 years old...age doesn't matter!)

Ok, PassionF, BUT, the question is when you ALREADY
experienced your "15 minutes of fame" that you'll never forget. Of course, I share your wants for your hopeful "15 minutes" but what have you already experienced?
