                    Books are awesome

                Hi,
  I have always loved books. When I was a child, I read book after book from cover to cover while I dreamed about one day being the author of a book of my own.
  My first book is now available for pre-release sales at bn.com, and should be in stores across America by February. I can hardly wait to walk into a book store and go over to the shelf and pick up a copy of something with my name on the cover.
  It probably sounds corny. But hey, it's my dream and it's cool to know I'm almost there!!!

                    books are my life!!

                I feel completely unwhole without a book to read! I MUST have one...any will do. I have been known in moments of utter desperation to fish out my old Enid Blyton books from my daughter's bookshelf JUST to have something to read. Consequently I have developed a wide range of genres I enjoy...from period pieces, to light-hearted modern tales, to psychological mysteries....probably my favourite. What they do for me is offer me total relaxation and escape from my daily hectic routine. I can think of no better way to spend a day than curled up with a book!

                "Never judge a book by its cover";
  this reminds me of;
  never judge people by outward apperances.

                Escape, respite, learning, entertainment.  Books mean many things to me, and are very vital.

                Thomas Jefferson said it best: "I cannot live without books." I am SOOOO addicted to reading. My heart starts beating faster when I enter a room full of books. Paper is one of my favorite smells. Books ROCK!

                Books mean reading material for those long trips to the bathroom.  ;-)
  For me, because I'm into fantasy, books are an escape from the drudgery of reality.  I can lose myself in a made up world, much like when I was kid playing pretend.

                All of the reasons you listed, except for the anger part. Rarely do I read a book that gets me upset. For the most part, I go for the self-help/motivational books. Especially the ones dealing with spirituality!
