Me too
I love everything Nicholas Sparks has written, have read all of them and can hardly wait for the next one. In my first marriage I lived for a while in eastern North Carolina, so I know the setting of his books, familar with that area, and it brings back memories. The Notebook was a very special one, as my mother had Alzheimer's. In fact I read the first half of it but couldn't finish as it was all too close to home and I didn't want the beautiful love story to change as I felt it would. But after seeing clips of the movie, I read it again, all the way through, and I saw the beautiful love story was there till the end. Just read The Lucky One and need another Nicholas Sparks book soon, I'm hopelessly addicted.

It's fine as it is. I could feel the pain, the anger, the helplessness. If you'd like, feel free to write more. I think I'll be putting in a couple of my writings of the negative as well as a few of the positive.

I just wasn't sure if that was something style wise that is appropriate?
Yes, I think when you have a mother who is an alcoholic you get cast as mother very quickly. Someone has to do it!

Wow. I'm speechless. It's as if you and I are built from the same mold. We both had our childhoods taken away. We both had to be the "Mommy."

Well, of course! Why should I wallow in grief alone? I want you all to grieve with me!

Actually, they are quite good books. It's just that the endings are sometimes sad. That's why I suggested A Walk To Remember as being the first you (the collective you) should read.
