After the whipping you gave me this a.m., I think I'll leave that room behind now.

Oh no!
Oh no! That leaves only the sink! How boring. Unless, maybe, do you have a bidet?

Ody, lol.
My cat Rocky covered the shower in A Voyeur's Twisted Tale.
So it's safe to say I won't need to go there.

I think Beachbelle is touching on how our perceptions of others can sometimes be a reflection of how we peceive ourselves...
Moving post, by the way.

This is good.
I like hearing about the mirror much better than the toilet. Hey, maybe you can give us an overview of the shower tomorrow? (just kiddin’) Great post!

Quirk - I meant it metaphorically also. I have learned to not...
take myself too seriously. If we can smile/laugh at ourselves it makes life much easier and more rewarding.

tapsel-t,
I was really speaking metaphorically rather than physically, but what you are saying is very true.Smiling can alter your entire physiology.

aardvark,
I agree that really "seeing" is difficult and can be very terrifying...but I don't think it's an impossible task. Thanks for commenting.

Quirky - It's not much fun to look in the mirror each day and
see the changes that time and stress have made/are making. But, I have found that if I can smile at myself in the mirror, no matter what I see at any given moment, it makes me feel better about myself and more ready to face others.

Seeing yourself as you really are is a huge, often terrifying, task. I'm no good at it. I suppose no one really is. It's nice to "see" you trying though.

Excellent post!
I know exactly what you mean. When I looked into my mirror on day years ago and didn't recognize the face gazing back at me, I knew it was time for a change.
That change was a long time in the making and took many different anti-depressant drugs, but change it did. Now I can look into the mirror and see the true me smiling back.
