MiaElla, thank you...
How old is your dog and what breed is she? You can't kick yourself for not taking better care of her. I'm sure from the way it sounds of how much you love her, I highly doubt you've neglected her. Let me know more about her and maybe I can offer some professional opinions or suggestions about her situation.

Spitfire,
My dog Natala is getting old on me too. She doesn't even have very many teeth left. I should have taken better care of her - but I was always busy working two job and taking college classes to notice my neglect. I see her now and want to will my life into her...trade some of my life to extend hers. She sounds a lot like your beautiful Brit...she has very active happy days and days where she just lays around and makes me sad. At least I know I'm not alone in this. Much  to you and Brit

Thanks auntholly! I have been taking more pics of her
even though she's still shaved on one shoulder and her abdomen! It's sort of growing back a little. She's still beautiful!

They're lovely photos to have - hope you take plenty more & Brittany stays out of real discomfort as long as possible.

Thank you, HolyG!
I'm savoring every single day I have left with her and every tail wag, every "happy dance" she does, every bark, every everything positive!

I'm trying to, Quirky!
It's always better when she is in an "up" mood. She actually scared me this morning cause when I woke up to let Stonci out and called to Britt to go with us, she just layed there really still. After about 5 seconds, her ear finally twitched and she eventually got up. Whew!

I'm so sorry.  This is the one thing that really, truly sucks about having pets.  We pretty much always outlive them, and I just don't want to imagine my life without my guys.  Be strong and know how wonderful you've made her time here.

Spitfire

"I'm sorry" doesn't quite express what I feel, but I'm having trouble finding the words.

Be strong and enjoy your remaining time with her.

Love you too, Jems and thank you!!
I just pray for Britt to be pain free. I'm sure she's a bit uncomfortable cause her spleen is taking up her entire abdomen; pushing other organs out of the way, but so far, she hasn't lost her spirit and she's not ready to go yet, thank God!!
