Anyone remember the GEOS operating system?

There's a theory about synchronous invention: Usually, it means that two (or more) people invent the same thing at very close to the same time.

WIndows, as an idea and application, was old hat before Xerox did their thing. Apple thought that they invented it (they did - their EXPRESSION of the same idea). M$ just did their usual: made something that looked similar to what had gone before and gave it their own slant.

There's many examples of the same thing all over the place - even to people setting out the same expression.

But I do love the thesis-as-sy-information bit..
