Building a readership
Here are some things that we have incorporated at Blogit to publicize your work: http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Help/HelpPage.aspx?page=publicity.
The best way for you to publicize your own work includes:
1. Forward your work to friends and family. Make sure you include the Referral link (click on the Referrals link on the home page) so that you earn extra money each time someone signs up as a Blogit member.
2. Get involved in the Blogit community. The more active you are in reading and commenting on other people's writing, the more likely it will be that they'll start to read you, and the blog's author may recommend your blog.
3. Here are some writing suggestions that may help increase your blog's readership, which in turn helps improve rankings and earnings:
* Initially, add posts to a single blog, instead of creating multiple blogs. Readers will be more likely to remember your blog's name.
* Post frequently, at least once a day if possible. Recently updated blogs will appear on the home page under New Posts, and are also more likely to appear in Featured Blogs.
* Split long posts into several shorter ones. Many online readers prefer to read shorter posts.
* When a post receives comments, it is likely that the topic appeals to readers. Consider writing on similar topics.
* To appeal to different groups of readers, write multiple blogs on different topics.
