His account status is personal information.  It's one thing to post a bulletin that says generically "if a user's account is not current, this will not update", without referencing a particular person.  It's a completely different thing to state for the entire board "THIS USER IS PAST DUE".

I'm quite certain when he posted his query, he was not aware that it was billing related, but instead a technical issue.    You could simply have posted "this is not a technical issue - we have emailed you with more details".

For future reference, if *I* ever asked you what I think is a technical issue, and you broadcast to the group personal information about my account, I will be thoroughly pissed.   Please be more circumspect when it cones to details like that.

Response locations

Most questions are submitted via email, and we do respond via email in that case.

When questions are posted on a community blog, we typically post responses (omitting confidential information such as the person's real name) on the community blog to make it available to other members with a similar question.

You know, that's a little personal of an answer to be posting in the public forum.  Couldn't you have emailed him that response??

Please pay balance due

You have a balance due on your account. To pay the balance due, please update your credit card information. Once your account is current, your payment distribution to writers will start updating.

You were sent an email regarding the balance due on June 5th. Please check your email, or if your email address on file is incorrect, please correct your email address by going to My Account.
