Ah, but Inky...
it's only illegal to write on money if you render it unusable. Writing or stamping a web address along one edge does not deface the bill to the point that it is unusable.

I blogged about this in a tricky way
here.  It was a few months back and I had just been thinking about checking on the status of the bills I entered, so thanks for the reminder!  This is going to sound weird, but I feel lightly guilty for writing on money since I know that technically it is illegal--perhaps that's one reason I haven't pursued this more.

Weird, weird, weird! Weird I say!

Before I even read this post I somehow knew you'd be talking about Where's George.

I signed up a few months ago.  It's a fun site!  And now all my bills say www.wheresgeorge.com on them--usually in bright pink!
