As described in the post, the configuration is designed to avoid any data loss; however, due to a technical problem, the most recent data could not be restored. We are working with our site provider to understand the technical problem so we may keep it from recurring.
We highly recommend that members keep a copy of all posts on their computer and use a personal backup system. Although our goal is to keep all data intact, Blogit is not a substitute for a backup system.

Do you not have backup for your hard drives? Isn't this a common practice?

For speed and efficiency reasons, we store both a brief excerpt and the full text of each comment. The excerpts were not affected, which is why they appear in the preview.

It appears that you were able to place red text in a post at 2:32 pm. If you are still seeing only blue and black, please let us know.

This error seems a bit strange:
If I look at the comments left for me I can see the start of the comment in the preview after the subject line, so the data must be there somewhere? It's only when I click in to actually read the comment that I get the message saying it cannot be displayed.

UPDATE FROM JOHN GALLAGHER
When I sent an e-mail to Shaycome about black and blue block outs on my Blogit material, it was suggested to me that I look into my own computer for the problems. I also had posts not entered and message about comments too. Now the problem I am having is I can only change type colours to Black or Blue, and they were the two colours affecting my Blogit the other night.
Thanx,

Number of posts affected
33 posts were affected. They could not be recovered because they were on the hard disk that stopped working and was replaced.

How many posts were affected? My poems were wiped out (two of them). How come you could not recover ALL affected posts?
