Scheduled maintenance

Blogit will be unavailable from 5-7 pm Pacific Time (8-11 pm ET/12 am-3am UT) today for scheduled maintenance.

Update 5:39 pm: Scheduled maintenance has been completed. Since we did our best to minimize the impact on members, Blogit was actually unavailable for approximately 5 minutes. If you experience any problems, please let us know.

Blogit site technical problems

Dear Blogit members,

As some of you noticed, we started to see intermittent problems on Blogit this morning. We restarted the web server which caused the Blogit site to go offline for a few minutes.

Although the site is back up at this time, we are still working on determining the technical issue that may be causing the earlier problems. This means that the site may go down again until we can determine the root of the problem.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to have the site available to you without interruption ASAP.

Scheduled maintenance

Blogit will be unavailable from 3:00 am to 5:00 am Blogit Time (US Pacific Time) on Saturday, April 15 for scheduled maintenance.

We have scheduled this maintenance for a low-traffic time, and will do our best to complete it as quickly as possible.

Update: Due to a technical issue, this maintenance will not take place as planned. We will post a new entry when it is rescheduled.

Blogit will be unavailable at 5 pm PST (8 pm EST/1 am UTC) for approximately 15 minutes. Please note that you will need to sign into Blogit again after the maintenance is complete.

Access to Blogit restored

Blogit Members,
 
Earlier today, Blogit had a problem with its domain registrar and some of you could not reach the Blogit site and were being redirected to a different site. 
 
This problem has been fixed. Most members should be able to sign in at this time, although a few may continue to have a problem for the next 24 hours.
 
Thank you very much for informing us. Your emails and calls this morning allowed us to address this problem immediately.

Your Security on Blogit

We take security on Blogit *very* seriously and have the best possible security in place to protect all member accounts and personal information. When we invested in the improved website hosting etc. last year we also invested in a better security system for the Blogit website.

Here are some suggestions to help prevent someone from obtaining your personal information:

To ensure that no one else can use your account, please do not share your password on your account with anyone else. If you do that, you will be giving them the information they need to use your account without your knowledge.

Protect your password. Select a password that is a mix of letters and numbers and cannot be easily guessed by anyone who knows you. You can change your password by going to My Account and clicking "Change password".

Change your password often. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us.

When you click on a link in an email that appears to be from Blogit, please check the Address field in your web browser and ensure that it starts with "http://www.blogit.com" or "https://www.blogit.com". If it does not, do not fill in any personal information, since it may be a fraudulent web page attempting to obtain your Blogit password or other personal information. Please send us a copy of the email so we may investigate.

PayPal repetitive emails and deposit delays

For many (or all) members who received earnings via PayPal, PayPal is currently experiencing technical problems, which is causing repetitive email notifications and a delay in the appearance of funds in PayPal accounts.

We have contacted PayPal, who has informed us that these problems have been escalated for resolution. We regret the inconvenience, and will post more information as it is available.

Update: It appears that PayPal completed processing at 7:25 pm Blogit Time (PDT). If you received an email notification, the funds should now have appeared in your PayPal account. If that is not the case, please contact PayPal so they can investigate the problem.

Blogit will be undergoing scheduled maintenance to improve reliability and availability from Saturday, October 16 9:30 pm - Sunday, October 17 1:00 am Blogit time (PDT). During this period, Blogit may be unavailable for several hours.

Second Phase Complete

Blogit Members,

As we noted two weeks ago, we have been working on a plan to improve reliability and expand capacity. 

We are pleased to announce that the second phase has now been completed. This significant upgrade will improve reliability by expanding capacity to allow for current and future growth.
