Tamara I knew that. But money is the root of all evil is the way most people have heard it. I did a whole blog on that saying called "Money--The Root of All Good"

The bible does NOT say "Money is the root of all evil"
The quote is:
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

an interesting experiment is
to glue money on the sidewalk/footpath - have you ever noticed how many people try to pick it up? you can also tell a lot about people when they own up to being given more change than they should have received at the checkout - and hands up - Who actually reports finding money to the police? finders keepers? lots out there that do?
