MHW, I've been waiting for you to weigh in. I couldn't say it as long as you hadn't, you have more right to it than I, but let me add a "Yeah, like he said".
Freedom of expression is paramount. And it is here. There are times when we will pop off, and that's human nature. The webmasters obviously value this, otherwise there would be fire and brimstone raining down about now. No one can force you to play footsie or be PC with or about anyone. Folks are free.... to leave, stay, take a hiatus, lurk, or just turn the damn thing off and go fishing.

I feel that we can argue but avoid fights; grinding it in is "poor form", and if it gets bad enough we can lose priviliges (yes, priviliges, not rights, the content is free but the infrastructure and administration of something like this takes money and a lot of effort) to use this space as we have, and leave ourselves open to retaliation by others. You want to be consistently obnoxious in a public house, the alternative is you sit there alone, and/or the owner shuts down. Everyone has to share the pub.

Having said that, I am not sorry I blew up last night, but it smacked of hypocrisy, and I hope that didn't obscure my point. (I'm not saying I am not a hypocrite, but what I just wrote is more in keeping with the necessity). There are folks here with greater and lesser emotional toughness and emotional involvement than others, and even though not mandatory, it behooves the tough to use appropriate emotional force. ("Only the noble feel 'nobless oblige' "). Let me know when I trespass, a simple "Yo, Harebrain !" will suffice and be taken in good spirits. Let's all try for that.
