A green kayak lies on its side leaning against the boatshed flanked by tubs of withered tomato vines now home to bustling sparrows catching a brief respite between flights Silvery squirrels scurry across the snow weightless, they leave not a trace Crackly brown leaves swooped up by gusts of wind...
