Pittsburgh Is Home To One Of the Last Wooden Streets In the World

The famous wooden cul de sac is located on the historic Roslyn Place in Shadyside. It was built in 1914 and contains 26,000 wooden blocks. The purpose of the wood was for better traction for the horses who once travelled along the street pulling buggies. Sign in to see full entry.
