Money and Fulfillment--We can have both!

I was talking to my friend Suzanne last night, and we got to talking about jobs. Suzanne maintained that we had to choose between a job that pays well and a job we can get satisfaction from. You can't have both. I used to have the same attitude before I became a religious scientist. Through church... Sign in to see full entry.

Easter question, a little late.

They say Jesus died for our sins but he died on Good Friday and was resurrected Easter Sunday. So didn't he really just give up a weekend for our sins? Sign in to see full entry.

Confusion over Jesus

There are a couple of things I'm confused about in the story of Jesus. 1. Jesus supposedly died for our sins, but he died on Good Friday and was resurrected on Easter Sunday So it seems to me that at most he gave up a weekend for our sins. 2. If Jesus died for our sins, shouldn't we commit as many... Sign in to see full entry.

God and Sugar

Why is there sugar? If you believe doctors and nutritionists sugar rots your teeth, makes you fat and screws up your health. Most of us deprive ourselves of sugar--to one degree or another-- because we believe that it's harmful to us. We believe the doctors and nutritionists because they are... Sign in to see full entry.

Suffering? Succotash!

Minister this morning talked about suffering. She had been to a conference where they were all trying to figure out how to save the world. Someone had asked the group whether they were willing to do the suffering required of them to save the world. As some of you may know, I am a religious scientist... Sign in to see full entry.

God the Bus Driver

At the end of a bus ride the other day, one of my fellow passengers got off the bus and asked me if I was scared. I said "No Why?" It seems that this particular bus driver, was having a few problems, hitting curbs and things like that. I hadn't noticed. It might have had something to do with my... Sign in to see full entry.

Serving God and Money

"You cannot serve both God and money" the minister said today quoting the Bible. That's a dangerous statement. Not because it is false necessarily but because it could easily be misinterpreted. It could be interpreted to mean that it's bad to have money. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. God wants us to have... Sign in to see full entry.

Yes and No

I listen to a lot of tapes--the self-help, self-improvement, personal development variety. I figure if I listen to enough of these kind of tapes, I'll eventually be perfect. I figured it might be fun and interesting to write about what I heard on the tapes. Since most of my tapes have a spiritual... Sign in to see full entry.

Doctors, Medicine, and Religious Science

Because we get confused with Christian Scientists, Religious Scientists are often asked whether we go to doctors and take medicine. The answers are yes and yes. Religious Scientists believe that God is everywhere. That means God is in medical professionals and in medicine. God can work through... Sign in to see full entry.
