Some statistics that worry me and should worry you:
- 2004: the News section of Blogit made 21 separate announcements, effecting a whole host of improvements.
- 2005: there were 13 separate announcements, including 23 separate changes that directly affected our blogging experience.
- 2006: there were 4 announcements, of which 2 directly enhanced Blogit: an upgrade to the Search facility in January & an upgrade to the toolbar in October.
And at the same time:
- 1st 500K comments 26 months - a promising build-up
- 2nd 500K comments 10 months (Aug 2005) - excellent growth
- 3rd 500K comments 10 months (June 2006) - stagnation
- 4th 500K comments 10 months (est April 2007) - stagnation
The period of stagnation seems to directly correspond to a reduction in involvement from the administration of Blogit. You could call it a plateau, but where do we go from here? Up or down? Or are you completely happy with the status quo? I'm not. And to be constantly fobbed off with a promise of what's to come is just not good enough. This site needs action, not words, from you, our leader(s). Your subscribers have continued to pay and produce content throughout 2006, but where was the input from you?
I strongly feel that lack of investment from Blogit administration is ruining Blogit.
Sort it out, please.
