A scary thought

A black cat’s howl arches it’s back and rides a broom over the moon. Things flutter just out of sight it’s Halloween the frightful night when ghosts suffuse up through the ground then on my door they do pound. I know what would tame them and if would sure be handy had I not forgot to buy some candy. Sign in to see full entry.

The order of chaos

Time was When things were shiny and new Life swirled round and about Children ran and laughed. Those echoes have long since died out As nature slowly takes back what once was And order descends to ruin. What if there was a magic portal To see the past through the life of these buildings When they... Sign in to see full entry.

Autumn Falls

Lonely winds rattle the brittle leaves, a weak applause for their mates that have just done their last high-dive. The chill wind slices through my jacket, making my teeth into tiny jackhammers. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an icicle hanging from my nose. I bend to the task of chopping wood, fresh... Sign in to see full entry.

Rainy afternoon blues.

I sat down with a book the pages dimly lit by the weak light spilling through the window. The raindrops sucked most of the light up and drove it into the ground. I looked out of the fogged up window and thought how I’d like to draw your face in the filmy moisture gathered there, but no matter how... Sign in to see full entry.

Some thoughts on September 11 2001

Gleaming towers of concrete, steel and glass. Towers that stood boldly proclaiming to all that would pass, “We are the center of world trade, there is no finer stuff than that of which we are made”. Come…

The wind whispered to the clouds, come play over the mountains a moment. Why? Grumbled the Cumulus? What’s going on? Inquired the Nimbus and Stratus. The wind urged, it is time to play and put on fanciful colors. The clouds frolicked on that night and even the muted colors proved a wondrous sight... Sign in to see full entry.

Cities of the dead

Stories left untold As the rows of markers unfold Stones, tall and gray All have the same thing to say… “here lies departed father, loving mother, infant daughter, toddler son…” Vast cities of those gone before Brought to life this one day By flower upon flower, Spray upon spray As we gather to... Life's bittersweet song

Rockin' down the highway Rollin' around the bend Just when life can’t get any sweeter And the drums are hammering That different tune you march to The moment creeps up on you That no tapestry can ever mend Its inescapable Its unstoppable Your mind denies it but finally relents The circus is gone,...
