Gimme a Man After Midnight

Women are supposed to be independent and able to be self-sufficient. "You don't need a man to complete you." That brings to mind the statement, "That only goes so far." It's been a looooong time since I had to even think about not having a man sharing my bed -- a man to chase away the shadows till the break of the dawn -- that's one luxury of life I'm loathe to give up! Every time I hear this song, I reminded of when I first joined Blogit, December 21, 2005. Lustorlove finally had enough of my... Sign in to see full entry.

Installing a Husband

INSTALLING A HUSBAND Dear Tech Support, Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as * Romance 9.5 and * Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as * NBA 5.0, * NFL 3.0 and * Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer... Sign in to see full entry.

Fix You

"Fixers"

She had just watched "You, Me and Dupree", because she had found herself home alone that night. It was the kind of movie only she would like, at least under her roof. It was silly, romantic movie, the kind that had a simple plot, and a swell ending -– the proverbial romantic comedy. It was the kind of movie she would have watched with her old boyfriend and they would have laughed at the same guffaws together. She could just imagine seeing the two of them, snuggled on the couch, with his arm... Sign in to see full entry.

The #1 Rule in Marriage

My husband and I had a rare but terrible quarrel last night. We argued just before bedtime and he had gone to bed without a word and put on his CPAP mask that he wears for his sleep apnea. That meant he was not going to talk. He was just interested in going to sleep. My mother had always said the number one rule in any marriage was to never go to bed angry with one another. I had stayed up late doing extra work to avoid facing going to bed with an angry man. When 2:00 a.m. rolled around, I was... Sign in to see full entry.

Show Some R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

Show Some RESPECT After working for an hour and a half cleaning the kitchen after dinner, I get snapped at by my husband after I asked for some help. According to him, he's tired of my putting chores off until late. I never get to sit down and watch TV, something he does every night -- plants himself and there he stays. I sit down, and invariably I will fall asleep so I prefer to be on the move. And SOMEone's got to wash dishes and clean up after supper! As a person with Parkinson's disease... Aging Love

The intimacy that should be a part Of every married couple’s life -- When did it evaporate? Or have I just imagined my longings for them Into imaginary intimacies? Has it been so long ago That we felt passion, excitement, the anticipation Of being alone, together, escaping the party So we could touch, kiss, revel in our bond? I don’t feel as old as the calendar says I’m supposed to be Or did I just imagine my memories of feelings held in limbo? Has gravity won over compassion and understanding?... Having a Date with Your Old Man

I start out on one vent which leads to an even larger one. Hope you can follow... You know what? I've been married to my husband for 31 years and I still like to get all prettied up and go somewhere on a Saturday night. With Gasoline what it is, and the other astronomical bills in our struggling financial lives, we take our appetites to a local eatery. It was deserted last night in downtown Leavenworth, too. We are not the only ones struggling here. We ate at a local, authentic Mexican... Sign in to see full entry.
