Spiritual Finger-Pointing . . . .

What is the least "pretty" thing about religion? Why, the finger-pointing many sincere religionists do at those who do not believe as they do about what they consider to be the realities of their personal faith. Religionists seem to forget that personal faith is just that, personal faith. Just... Sign in to see full entry.

Jailhouse Conversion is a sham . . .

and should not be taken into account in determining a felon's sentence. In a news story today, it states that the jailhouse conversion of Terry Nichols to Christianiy is a factor that very well seems to have swayed the jury to not recommend the death penalty. The man is convicted of 161 deaths and... Sign in to see full entry.

Religious Shysters Abound!

Every time one turns around, some "Holy Man" (or Woman) is trying to reach into your pockets, purses and checking accounts "to help Christ." Well, if Christ is the man everyone claims to be (which I doubt), then he does not need either our help or our money. Sign in to see full entry.

When Religion Entrenches Itself into Politics

As many conservative Republicans seem to be trying to do, then the real big money shams will start. Do you all really want to mix religion and politics? Nothing wrong with individual politicians being openly religius, that is the right of all citizens, to voice our opinions on everything, even... Sign in to see full entry.

A Name Change Proposition

Since this is the day collection plates make the rounds in countless churches around the country, we should change the name of today from Sunday to Shamday. More descriptive that way, doncha thank? Sign in to see full entry.

Christians are Scrambling . . . .

Apparently Dan Brown's book, The Da Vinci Code, has riled a lot of feathers amongst the faithful. They claim his book is hurting their religion by giving false information. Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? Religious leaders have been giving out false information for millenia. This... Sign in to see full entry.

Sure Sign that a particular religion is a sham . . . .

When the overwhelming stated goals are materialistic. Some Examples: we need to build a bigger, better curch; you need to give us (or God) more money; let us show you how you can leave your estate to us; join our _______ (fill in the blank: 700, Love the Lord, Bible Study, etc.) club for only...;... Another group of Sham religions . . . .

Are the religions, supposedly based on Christ, that are cults with charismatic leaders and sheep, er, people, who believe everything they are told. It still amazes me that people follow the spiritual lead of deranged ministers who misrepresent the Bible, taking personal power, and money, from the... Sign in to see full entry.

Bugging Me Today are Fundamentalists Closer to Home . . .

And I write now of fundamentalist Pagans who take every opportunity to bash Christians. Now, there are individual Christians who deserve such, but not the whol religion! Every religion has it's kooks and its trouble makers, and it's violent arm. It really bugs me to go to an otherwise peaceful... Sign in to see full entry.

Christian Fundamentalism in Our Country . . . .

is one of the major cancers on our society. It is their misguided contention that their god should be the root of the ultimate law of the land. That just is not so, morally, ethically or Constitutionally. Sorry guys. Rule your own homes, ruin your families with demented ethical stances, but don't... Sign in to see full entry.
