Consider with me this quotation from first lady wannbe Michelle Obama, uttered yesterday at a campaign event in Madison, Wisconsin: “What we've learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback, and let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult lifetime,... Sign in to see full entry.

It's that time of year - refiniery explodes, and so do ga$ prices
The oil industry held its more or less annual Texas oil refinery explosion today. (Think about it – they seem to happen about this time of year.) And, of course, ga$ prices immediately went up 20+ cents a gallon here in northwest Ohio to celebrate. Well, here’s a question for the politicians,... Sign in to see full entry.

Hell has indeed frozen over. The ABC Nightly News ran a story tonight in which Africans, particularly Tanzanians, sang President Bush’s praise for his AIDS program. Case after case was presented of successes in combating the dread disease, with only brief comment on how critics want more funding... Sign in to see full entry.

Followup on yesterday's entry at http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight/522619: Thanks to the so-called "leadership" of Speakerette of the House Nancy Pelosi, the FISA legislation that has done so much to help our efforts to combat terrorism has expired. Shrillary: Blacks made no progress during Clinton presidency?
Here’s another gem from Shrillary. During the memorial observance for the Reverend Dr. King, she observed that blacks have made no progress in the years since he died. Just how obtuse is this woman? For one thing, what color does she think the man who stands between her and the White House is? Last... Sign in to see full entry.

MLK Speech Changed Bill Clinton's Life Direction?
Heard in a brief quote on the radio today: President Bubba Clinton spoke at the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King memorial today. Among his remarks, he claimed that hearing the "I Have a Dream" speech inspired him to see the Reverend Dr. King's America as the one he wanted. I admit this is... Sign in to see full entry.
