I knew there were reasons I haven't been to "Hobby Lobby' in a while. The first one hit me just as I passed through the door. They keep their Christmas display up year round. It's not so annoying this time of the year. What irritates me is seeing Santa on the first of July. Now they do put an Uncle Sam hat on his head and a flag in his hand...But he still says, "Ho Ho Ho!" Then they booby trap the place with displays of things I didn't know I wanted til I saw them. I keep seeing those ads on TV where they take someone blindfolded lead them to the driveway or garage and there is a car with a great big red bow on it! There is also one where the car is parked at the curb and two women are out drooling on it. They had better be careful that bow probably isn't colorfast. What I'd like to know is where do they get a bow big enough for a car? Then if you are going to put on a bow shouldn't there be wrapping paper? That would be a Christmas wrappers worst... Do you ever get the feeling that what is happening right now had already happened and at the same time it hasn't really even happened yet? I'm not sure if that is deja-vu or maybe it is deja-huh? I was watching the 'Tonight Show' and as they announced the guests, it seemed like I had already seen the show. So for a minute I figured it was a repeat. But it wasn't. I really haven't been in hot water for several days now. That's because my hot water heater started leaking a few days ago. When I first saw the puddle of water I thought it was coming from the washing machine. That's because not too long ago the washer was leaking. Well, the drain hose had somehow gotten dis-connected, and it was cracked. I ordered and installed a new drain hose. This time, I figured it had popped off. Darn. It was a creepy hotel. Maybe the new side wasn't as creepy, but we got stuck in an old room on the oldest wing. Why am I thinking about this now? Well, I was cleaning out the cabinets and drawers in the bathroom and I found a soap holder and a bunch of soaps from that hotel. We only stayed there one night because the room was cold, the door wouldn't lock and the sink in the bathroom drip drip dripped all night long. I kept seeing flashes of white light. It always happened when I was driving down the street. Was it an omen? Was I going to meet my maker? Was I going blind? At first I thought maybe a migraine was coming on...Whew, it wasn't! That was good. It happened nearly every time I went to the grocery store over several weeks. I started to wonder if maybe there was a ghost hanging around the intersection where the grocery store is. Yeah, it was a ghost dashing across the street to get a loaf of bread, or... In the wee hours of the morning Bo, my little sheltie, woke me up doing his I gotta go outside right now dance. I got up and let him out. I was sleepy so I stumbled back into the house and sank down on the couch to wait for him. I guess I fell asleep Now the next thing I knew, a wet nose was poking my hand. It didn't occur to me that I hadn't let Bo back in. My hand went out and petted Bo? who was in his usual place by the couch between it and the coffee table. I sank down on the sofa and pulled... I turn on the tv to watch "Deal or No Deal." Howie says, "We'll open up that case right after these!" Then a commercial comes on then another one then one more then an ad for some other shows then two more commercials. By this time I have forgotten what show I was watching. Then there is a teaser for the news---"They have discovered something that if you don't know about it you risk your life savings!" That report will be on the ten o'clock news--next Tuesday. Is it just me or does everyone have days where everything you touch you either drop, break, or trip over? For me, today I seem to be doing all three. I feel like maybe I should get in bed and stay very still so I won't accidentally blow up the house. It started with the kitchen clock. It had stopped at four thirty. I looked at my watch and the display was blank--'Dead battery.' So I looked at the time on the microwave. It said 9:11. I was pretty sure it was morning cause I just got up and it was... I have this annoying habit of reading every sign I come across. There was one in the library that has me rather upset. It said, "Starting January 7th this branch will be closed for renovation--This will take approximately 5 months--We will post a notice soon." I'm not sure, but wasn't that sign a notice? Now I would really like to know why they are renovating this branch. They just finished renovating it 30 years ago! I have barely adjusted to the new layout and they are going to change it...
