Luke's Gospel, in which chapter 1 parallels the news of two pregnancies - Elizabeth, wife of a respected Jewish priest's at the temple in Judah, and Mary's, a common girl bethrothed to Joseph the Carpenter of Nazareth (perhaps 60 miles north).
