Project Protein

Gun shots in the night, mommy pulls baby closer Wasted lives blend in with the dark of night—waiting on the next fix; Protectors, no more than fifteen, guard the neighborhood from enemies And the unknown…the hardware goes click. One baby cries as another is produced, one baller begins to spiral downward One boy becomes a man, though the law isn’t in agreement; From bringin’ home the bacon, to bringin’ in the ‘dough’: man of the house to respected head of his neighborhood…becoming what is needed.... Prologue of Isabelle Fonteyne (con't)

Though her chopines were elegant, and fit the profession, they caused severe pain to the balls of her feet when she moved too fast. Sharp pains caused her gait to be off balance, as she pushed harder to keep up with the mark. Her feet promised her more suffering, later. Fallen Star

Cries and screams of the unwanted and unloved shatter my dream of tranquility before it begins; The smell of fear and dread linger in the air... breathe through your mouth for second wind. Sexual desires that are uncommon await, as the leech in murky waters: latch and cling; Fetishes for violence and the macarbe lurk here For souls of men and women that are clean I scan my surroundings, seeking to remember how the darkness entered into me so complete Ah yes: T'was my eyes, ears, and mouth that... A Ghetto Queen- a poem of endurance

Her little ones are under-fed, says scrutinizing flesh; the bread and meat is what they eat least Yet her words of wisdom are filled with wholesomeness; as proverbs come often bitter, but also sweet… wholesome nutrients are sewn into their essence, and in an uncertain future these will strive Humbleness is instilled and from a mother that survived the ghetto child has fortune by his side As the mother, hardened by fate, walks with angelic beings, wisdom, honor, and faith intact… The knowledge...
