How cheap can I be???

Today, I hit the discount rack at the supermarket. I got the dog 2 cans of Alpo---a real treat for him since he usually gets stuck with dry food. They only cost $.15 for two cans because I had a buy one get one coupon! The kids got a giant size bag of skittles for $.49 since I also had a coupon for... Sign in to see full entry.

Arsenic in my Water? Did someone say arsenic?

Several years back- 5 to be exact- I learned the hard way that the well water around here contains a certain amount of arsenic in it. The level is higher after heavy rain...so do you think I have been drinking any water lately? Seems the rocks way below the surface have a natural form of arsenic... Sign in to see full entry.

Leftovers tonight and get your own!

Okay, I made a delicious breakfast of french toast with all of the trimmings. Since I don't normally eat breakfast, I definitely wasn't feeling hungry today when you take into account the ungodly heat of the day. It shouldn't be a biggie though because we have some wonderfully delicious pasta and... Sign in to see full entry.

Oh please, don't make me cut the ....

.......................... mango! My youngest son has a thing for mangoes....yuk! I am sorry to offend you, if you like these large, orangey-yellowy-reddish fruits, but I can't stand the things. Or sit them either for that matter. Seriously though, they smell. They smell oddly or funny, I mean. My... Sign in to see full entry.

What! The sandwich maker is on vacation!

My son usually makes a sandwich for his father's lunch. Mind you, he does this under duress. He does this because if he doesn't, I won't let him forget about it. Anyway, he is going to camp with the scouts and will not be around for this job. Hubby wants to know who is going to make his sandwich???... Sign in to see full entry.

I usually don't buy frozen desserts at the supermarket but...

yesterday, they were offering chocolate eclairs, cream puffs, caramel cheesecake and peach cobbler at to die for prices. I could not believe that they had reduced these items so much...discontinued at this location- never to be seen again. Well, I could not resist...I needed some comfort food, yes,... Comfort Food

I've been feeling kind of low off and on, forever now. My posts in when you wish upon a star have put a lot of memories to swirling again and so I have been spiraling. My posts have also triggered the memory of how I got into baking. At fifteen, baking became my escape from reality, my reason to... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanks, kid for helping!

Tonight, my hubby wanted a lift to the garage. I was in the middle of making lasagna. He couldn't wait. The fifteen year old volunteered to watch the noodles and meat that were cooking (in separate pots) and she did a fair job. Nothing burned! When I arrived home though, I was startled to see the...
