Tonight, I let hubby make the rice. What was I thinking?

Tonight, I began to feel overwhelmed by everything that needed to be done (having been out all day and all last night), so I decided to give hubby a little responsibility. I asked him to make the rice. I forgot that he has spent less time cooking than I have in men's bathrooms (don't ask) and... Sign in to see full entry.

Buffet Feast

In 14 hours, we will be driving my son to the airport to catch his flight back to university. To give him the perfect sendoff, we are planning a feast. Tonight we will be having corned beef and potatoes (no one here really likes cabbage), baked chicken breast and buttered totellini, beef stew with... Sign in to see full entry.

I think I should make turkey soup more frequently....

I made a pot today and it went so quickly that there wasn't enough for everyone. I think, too, that I am getting used to cooking for 5 instead of 6....makes a big difference. Anyway, homemade split pea soup is on the list for next. The package says no need to presoak the peas but I find that id I... Sign in to see full entry.

My family has finally learned to fend for themselves and they do not like

it! I have been under the weather and every day, my family has discovered my resting spot to ask, " what's for dinner?" I reply, "DO you even have a clue that I haven't been feeling well for 3 whole days?" To which they reply, "well yes, but...." Anyway, there were leftovers in the fridge and I am... One reason that you should eat at least one meal before night approaches...

TWO DOZEN DONUTS!!!! On the way home, I had to stop at the supermarket to look for something for my daughter...I couldn't find that but I did find a clearance on donuts....Hey, give me credit here...one time I walked out of the store with three dozen donuts!!!! Thank goodness six of us live in this... Sign in to see full entry.

Well, we were going to have homemade Christmas cookies this season but.....

my family keeps volunteering to bring them in for their parties. In the old days, I always had more than enough for these events, indeed, I baked them with that intent in mind. However, necessity has sent me to the workforce and I no longer have the time I used to have to do these things;... Sign in to see full entry.

Today I looked at the pet rabbit and decided to eat ......................

after I had taken care of him first. No, I didn't hurt him. I simply gave him some fresh hay, grain and a carrot! Then, I got my own breakfast- a nice hot cup of tea. That was all that I would have time for with all of that ice to scrape from my car and the doors to deice, just so I could get in and... Sign in to see full entry.

Tonight, I bought brussel sprouts and my kids are gonna kill me!

At my home, we have a rule: if I cook it, you eat it! My children have never liked this rule, hubby ignores this rule, and guests usually have more eclectic tastes anyway. However, frozen brussel sprouts were on sale...60cents off and even thought the kids hate them, I thought, "geez, they are... Sign in to see full entry.
