Chocolate Rewards

I cleaned the top of the light bridge that goes between my armoir and my husband's armoir over a platform queen sized bed. Since it's higher than I am tall--it usually doesn't get dusted. So today I got out the portable vacuum cleaner and vacuumed off the top. There weren't many surprises. Except... Sign in to see full entry.

I don't have time to exercise.

So I put on a heart rate monitor and did housework. I got my heartrate up to 130 and it stayed there for one half hour. Now I'm resting from my workout. My heart is down to 93 so that is slow enough. I can now clean the floors for my second workout. I'd rather go to Curves, its more fun. But... Sign in to see full entry.

Energy and Imagination

I have been sick for the past five years but now I'm better thanks to a machine that treats sleep apnea. One of the problems I have is that I have no idea what a normals day's work is. So I work until I'm completely exhausted and then have to rest for a few days to restore my energy. There is such a... Sign in to see full entry.

Spiderman

The movie Spiderman was unusually good for a comic strip movie. It is because the original comic was well written, too. My grandchildren all love Spiderman. They cuddle during the scary parts and then immitate his actions. He was a superhero when my thiry year old son was a child. So he can share... Sign in to see full entry.

Dry Towels

When I took a shower this morning, I grabbed a wet towel and thought--a dry towel is one of those simple pleasures of life. The other one is our gas stove in the solar room which looks like a woodstove but uses gas instead. I can get almost too hot in the room. In these days of energy conservation... Life Can Be Very Slow

When I wrote realistic novels, at first I put in too many details and the conversations were too long. Real life is full of ordinary moments with occassional moments of great pain, joy, chaos or whatever. The ordinary everyday is easier to live through. You have time to enjoy the moment, do a few... Nobody likes everyone.

I would like to think that I love everyone and everyone loves me, but it isn't so. Actually I used to enjoy hating at least one person or thing. I'm over that. What I find is that I like people who treat me well and dislike those who ignore me or treat me badly. That may seem obvious--but it isn't.... Sign in to see full entry.

Keeping Up

There are some things that are never done. One of them is housework, the other is paper work. Remember when they talked about a paperless office? The computer was supposed to replace paper. Now we have records on paper and on the computer. I know of only one place where they actually use a computer... Sign in to see full entry.

Sleep doctor

My sleeping machine called a CPAP--I have no idea what the initials stand for, has a little card which records whenever I use it. The doctor uses it to tell whether I'm using it or not. I use it a lot so he told me I'm doing really well. It seems strange to get praise over using a machine to help me... Sign in to see full entry.

Kindness and Discipline

I am a nice person. I like to do more for other people than I like to have them do for me. Yet I start out by being too nice and then I start setting down limits and people think I'm mean. It is better to start out mean and then lighten up. However I figure that I'm never have any friends if I start... Sign in to see full entry.
