THE WATCHFUL WAIT

They stood side by side their faces pressed against the window as close as a cling-on decal while the wind growled and the snow fell more rapidly then they had seen. They knew what the other one was thinking, no words were necessary. This was not new to them it had happened before. Would she make it... Sign in to see full entry.

HEART MAKEOVER

You wear your pain like a worn out pair of slippers with no fluff left on them, the soles nearly gone. Your shattered heart is on the sleeve of the faded bathrobe you forgot to throw out. Your face that was bright and cheerful has only tiny pieces of you left, like a jig-saw puzzle waiting to be... Sign in to see full entry.

BURNING BRIDGES

How many bridges are left standing that you still need to burn? You strike a match then walk away and watch it turn to rubble. The damage is done, the pain is still there, yet you continue to seek out more. The rebuilding takes days, even months, often years. The bridge has lost it's initial shine... TEACHINGS

They looked out for their children teaching them right from wrong. It was their job as parents to instill the morals and respect. When their child made a mistake, the parents addressed it. The TV was not a babysitter, there were limits with time on the phone. Homework was finished, bedtime was firm.... Sign in to see full entry.

TWISTED LOVER

He tells her that he loves her, that there could never be another. She believes his flowery words, he is a master at this. He loves her so much he proves it with a slap across her face and demeaning tirades to match the stinging of her skin. She thinks it's true, that it's her fault, that she"makes"... GAMES

The games we played as children, had a purpose and made life fun. We had board games, card games, and games we created ourselves. The games that adults play are without purpose and cause others pain. What happened to the rules of playing fair, no cheating, showing respect for the other player?... Sign in to see full entry.

WHY ASK WHY

Why would you follow when you know how to lead? Why put yourself last and ignore your own need? Why ignore instinct that lives deep inside you? Why give away more than you'll ever recover? Why not live for what fulfills you? Why not believe you deserve happiness too? Why not chase that dream and see... Sign in to see full entry.

MY INNER CHILD

My inner child beckoned me to come with her and see, all that shaped me in my youth, that created the woman today. Kids were playing hopscotch, tether ball and more. There were hula-hoops and roller skates, and softball in the street. Foot races, badminton, jumping rope and rhymes. "Tag you're it!".... Sign in to see full entry.

THE HEART'S REFLECTION

When she looked in the mirror, she saw a stranger looking back. What happened to her joy? Did she give it all away, thinking it would return one day? Who did she let steal it away? She looked deeper into her soul, and saw it was she who had created this hole. The more she gave the more was taken.... Sign in to see full entry.

YOU'RE THE ONE

You're the one who wanted out that cold December day. You're the one who said to me, " I have to get away." You're the one who ignored my tears, and watched as I stood crying. I'm the one who asked of you, "Why is it you want to be free"? You're the one who looked at me, and kept on with your lying.... Sign in to see full entry.
