Life with Cats

Right now, Max is still a little bit smaller than Elmo. Elmo loves to beat Max with her paws and bite his stomach. Soon, however, her day will come. Elmo is a full grown runt. I bead necklaces. I drop beads. My cat Max loves to play with beads. So he scattered his dry catfood out of his bowl and whacked a nugget of cat food under his dish and began to try to get it under the dish with his paw. Too bad he doesn't play soccer. Elmo learned how to be a cat from a dog. Consequently she learned to get up on the deck chair and meow at me to let her in. She tried to open the door with her nose. I bought a mosquito net to put over our bed for our anniversary. The cat love to sleep on our bed. At first the net kept them off. Now Elmo just lays on it and Max likes to play with it. So far, no rips, but I wonder what will happen in the future. Max plays with paper and plastic bags, shoes, hats,... Sign in to see full entry.

When Elmo was quite small, she was left alone with Andy our dog. He would get up on he chair to bark at me while I was sitting next to the computer, so I could see him and let him in. Last night while I was working on my beads, I heard a terrible racket. It sounded like one of the cats was playing in a paper bag. Then the sound moved and finally the paper bag ran past me at full speed. It was the funniest sight I'd ever heard or seen. Sign in to see full entry.

Part of the reason I got the kitten is because Elmo was lonely. We used to have a dog. He was a beagle and very cute. He was the world's friendliest dog. But he had the bad habit of biting. There is a golf ball loose in the attic and Elmo likes to chase it. Since she lived in the attic when Joe lived there, I can see why she'd like playing in there. At first the little kitty and big kitty would fight. Now they play. They run across the room chasing each other and when Elmo catches the little kitty, she bats him with her paws. When the little kitten first came, Elmo started showing him who was boss. She would bat him with her paws with her claws withdrawn.
