Summer's End

Scarlet berries adorn the hedges, The trees are gilded in the park, The rose is withered at the edges, Twigs are showing, bare and stark; The sweet garlands of the bright season Slowly compost to shades of brown Summer's soft dreams fade to Fall's reason As palaces of paradise fall down.
