In renewing my kids' American passports, a couple of months ago, I found out that on E's birth certificate not only is her name misspelled but her middle name is before her first name completely different from her passport. Today I got rejected because 'It was too noir' (Noir fiction, another name for "hardboiled" crime fiction.) She said it was well written but too noir.
