Judy forgot about her feet for the vast scene of destruction around her. The pavement couldn’t be driven on in most places. When the sky brightened with the light of day, someone thrust a piping hot piece of sweet potato under Judy's nose. ‘Here eat this.’ ‘Thank you so much.’ She tried not to gobble it down. ‘Oh you are a foreigner.’ Someone said. As she approached her house she was gripped with a sensation that this was all a nightmare and she would wake up. Her house, only visible through moonlight, was so obviously damaged, irrevocably, that Judy sank to the ground in dismay. Gazing up, she saw that the whole top floor had fallen in on one...
