Quality vs. Quantity?

I think I should make this quote my motto as I work on increasing my quantity of writing each day.... "...quantity produces quality. Only if you do a lot will you ever be any good. This quote is so true...

"Beginning to write, you discover what you have to write about."-Kit Reed It is so strange, how one's mind can be blank, with not sense of direction. Only five hundred words and I am struggling with it tonight.

First, I am so very tired. Second, the beeper is going off and the children were a bit of a handful tonight. And they said church would get out early tonight, but we did not. Commitment and Writing....

This makes me think of the very old cliche--- Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This quote is serious and elegant, so I am surprised at the corny associations I keep having, such as 'you have to start with one egg to get a dozen.'
