Why do we write?

Especially the days when it is such a struggle to find the minutes to write in. Then there are the long seasons of drought when you aren't sure anyone hears you when you write. Giving up the daily word counts for now.

Trying to adjust to the new eyeglasses.

I have gone several years without wearing the old ones. My eyes are truly middle aged, needing multifocal lenses. I wonder if my writing is middle aged also. Hopefully not too stuffy. Well, the daily word quota is almost at an end.

The Writing Challenge I've been doing is going to eliminate the lower word counts and focus of word counts getting higher and higher. I wish, as a writer, that it was....

...always possible to hold on to this bit of wisdom. Why is it so easy to get blocked or to doubt that you are really a writer. I have heard of writers with many well-received books to their credit, who worry with each new book that they won't be able to write anymore. "Patience and perserverence...
