A God Day
A God Day is when unexpected and wonderful things happen. Last Monday I had a God day. For some reason, I wasn't too tired and was able to go to hear the key note speaker at a conference my brother was attending. My brother gave me directions and I managed to get there on time without getting lost...

Early to Rise
I miss getting up at five in the morning. This morning, I heard my husband get up, but I chose not to get up. Before, I would always get up by five or five thirty in the morning. I was afraid to miss my quiet time in the morning. But now, there is no one at home except for my house mate who never...

Following Authority
A lot of Christians think that it is really important to follow authority, but the Apostle Paul didn't. His authority was Jesus Christ, no one else. As a result of his attitude, Paul was hounded by the Judaizers. They were people who wanted pagans to first become Jews before they became Christans....

Our Assistant Pastor is a Phony
I like our assistant pastor, but the men in my house think she is a phony. She is doing what I would have liked to have done but couldn't. I couldn't become an ordained minister because I couldn't pretend. She can. I like her sermons even though I think that I could preach better than her. They...

I like church.
The reason I like it is that I have given up all expectations for it. I want to serve but I'll never get to do it. The only thing I might end up doing is being a webmaster for the church. That is if the pastor has time for me before I go on vacation. All I need is for him to come home and then I can...

Being a Pharisee
The problem with being a Christian is that it is easy to become a Pharisee. The Pharisees had several problems. One was that they had high standards but didn't keep them. Secondly, they were very judgmental. Thirdly, they focused on external things rather than internal things. Last, they focused on...

Who should feel comfortable in church
My family and friends fill an entire row of chairs during Sunday morning worship. My friends haven't been in church much and don't feel completely comfortable. They don't have any money to contribute to the church and most of them don't know how to sing. They listen to the sermons intently. Unlike...

Suffering and a Christian
some people believe that Christians should not have to suffer. They believe this because they haven't read their Bibles. In the Bible everyone suffered. Suffering is part of life. It has both good and bad consequences but everyone experiences it.

Praise from the Pulpit
Our pastor praised our family for bringing people to church and having homeless people live with us. He praised my husband for being faithful doing the sound for services. We don't have much difficulty getting our homeless addicts to go to church. Maybe its because we practice what we preach.

Humility and Glory
I've always wanted to be on stage. In terms used by the codependency people on family roles, I was the lost child. I wanted to have a place in the sun. I was an assistant pastor for a while and was on stage. I quit being a pastor because of conflict with the senior pastor and my daughters' illness...
