No one has seen God and lived. To see God we must be non-existent.

No one has seen God and lived. To see God we must be non-existent. Bowl of Saki, January 5, by Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan: There is a [Hadith] which says: Mutu kubla anta mutu, which means, 'Die before death.' A poet says, 'Only he attains to the peace of the Lord who loses himself.' God said to Moses, 'No man shall see me and live.' To see God we must be non-existent. What does all this mean? It means that when we see our being with open eyes, we see that there are two... Sign in to see full entry.

Face the Sun

When you stand with your back to the sun, your shadow is before you; but when you turn and face the sun, then your shadow falls behind you. Bowl of Saki, January 4, by Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan: The life one recognizes is only the mortal aspect of life. Bowl of Saki, January 2, by Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan: The real understanding of religion is not in disputing over the diversity of the forms, saying. 'Your religion is worse and my religion is better.' The true religion is in recognizing the one life in all. ~~~ "Religious Gatheka 35", by Hazrat Inayat Khan (unpublished) The divisions of one into many are caused by light and shade, and if... Truth like a strea, of water

As water in a fountain flows as one stream, but falls in many drops divided by time and space, so are the revelations of the one stream of truth. Bowl of Saki, January 1, by Hazrat Inayat Khan Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan: In a fountain there is a big stream which flows up and then breaks into many drops. The stream is like the divine will, and the different drops like the wills in us. One drop goes higher, another lower, one falls to the left, another to the right, one goes north, another...
