Job 38:4--"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding." This is a powerful statement in its rhetorical impact. Job 37:19--[Elihu]: "Teach us what we should say to Him, For we can prepare nothing because of the darkness." Notice above that Elihu uses the pronoun "us." Job 36:21--[Elihu]: "Take heed, do not turn to iniquity, For you have chosen this rather than affliction." It is clear from this verse that Elihu's assessment of Job is the opposite of God's.
