About Bandwagon And Diehard Sports Fans?

I have noticed some strange behavior from a few of my fellow Minnesota Vikings fans in the past week or two. With our team long out of it and with our residence in Seattle Seahawks territory, some have been eagerly getting behind the Seahawks in their drive to the Super Bowl. One guy I have known... No More Coffee For Me From A Box In A Lot

I craved for coffee when I was coming back from skiing last weekend. All along the the mountainside/foothill stretch of road are quite a number of espresso stands. Typically, they are little box-like huts with little space for moving around inside. I looked for one on the right side of the road, so... Sign in to see full entry.

"Off-Hours" Grocery Shjopping

Two mornings ago, at half past five, I went grocery shopping at Winco. I was open, expecting to go through my computer return. But my internet connection was out at that time. So there I was, walking into a store that never closes. It does have its slow moments, though. The normal entrance spot was... Sign in to see full entry.

Starved For Snow

Many, many other cars were up in the mountains when I went there yesterday to cross country ski. The place where I went was also close to the alpine ski resort. The parking lots there were so full that people had to drive further on and park in make-shift parking lots and the chain-up areas.... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Government Likes To Have "Serfs"

To describe how the liberal government sees us and treats us, the word "serf" was used by a substitute host on Rush Limbaugh's radio program. There is truth to that. Big government is invasive and wants to control all of its subjects. We are heavily taxed and regulated, in all aspects of our lives.... Sign in to see full entry.

The Temporary "Exile" Of Former Authorities, Clergy Most Notably

My sister's former Lutheran pastor recently moved back into her community. What she told me about his departure and return surprised me. She informed me it was church policy that retired pastors move out of the community they had served and stay away for ten years. This is so that they would not... Sign in to see full entry.

Do Not Tamper With Current NFL Format

For the past two years or so, there has been talk of expanding the National Football League from 16 games to 18. That idea has now more or less subsided. Instead, what is now being speculated as a proposal is to include more teams in the playoffs. These ideas arise, because the money-rich NFL wants... Sign in to see full entry.

De-Gassing Chili

I love chili, but I don't care for its gas effect. Through the past several years, I have learned ways to neutralize gas--other ways besides ingesting Beano. One way is to put carrots in with it. That is the first natural method that I have learned. More recently, I have been informed that a sheet... Sign in to see full entry.

Early Morning Disorientation: Work Or No Work?

The alarm clock has awakened at such times as I first react that "it is not my work day; why did I set my alarm?" Of course, in those instances, I adjusted shortly to the reality that, in fact, it was time for me to get ready for work again. This morning I had the opposite reaction. I awoke and saw... Work Parktng Lot Rush

The shorter I make this, the more likely I will still be able to secure a better parking space at work. The parking lot fills up in a hurry. Generally, assuming many temporary workers are scheduled, the parking lot is fairly well filled up twenty minutes before the start of the shift, or even... Sign in to see full entry.
